The Lady E-Hawks softball team of Emmetsburg continued on to secure a five game winning streak to improve their record to 22-9 on the year when they played host to West Bend-Mallard on Tuesday, July 2.

The E-Hawks provided a second rout within the week with Mikayla Frerichs on the mound blanking the WB-M team 10-0.

Seemingly, every player on the girls' squad was able to put points on the board. Junior Lindsay Carter, Molly Schany, Cheyanne Fries, sophomore Taylor Steinkamp and senior Ali Laubenthal all threw one point on the board. Eighth grader Emma Auten scored twice. Finally, freshman Raegan Swanson scored a team high 3 runs on the night.

The team, with 26 at bats, was able to secure 11 hits and eight RBIs. Only two players were walked twice for a total of 4 base on balls.

Frerichs pitched for 5 innings and had only one hit and one walk recorded against her. She showed immense precision, however, off of her nine strikeouts.

Mikayla now has a current 3.06 ERA and holds her opponents batting average to just 0.216 in the 21 starts she has had and the 14 wins and 6 loss record she has secured.
