Boys Split After Two Days of Play

The E-Hawk boys played 1-1 after playing two days in a row against Alta-Aurelia, on Thursday, Jan. 31 and St. Mary's of Storm Lake, on Friday, Feb. 1.

Alta-Aurelia was able to defeat the boy's basketball team by a final score of 57-44. Sophomore Ben Dunlap had a big scoring night with 20 points after sinking 4 of 5 from beyond the 3-point line and going 6 of 8 from the field. He also grabbed six of the team's 23 rebounds and 3 of the 4 blocks for the team.

Tim Geelan gave the E-Hawks 10 more points off of his one 3-pointer and four made shots from the field.

The next day, Feb. 1, the team dominated the St. Mary's squad by a final score of 63-39 and bettering their record to 7-12.

Both Corbin Saathoff and Tim Geelan gave the E-Hawks 19 points. Saathoff went 8 for 12 from the field and drained 3 of his 5 3-point shots. Saathoff was also able to grab four rebounds offensively and one on defense. Tim Geelan was perfect from the free throw line going 4 for 4 to add to his 6 made shots from the field and 3 made shots from beyond the arc.

Ben Dunlap really made his statement by rebounds. He was able to secure 10 of his 14 boards defensively and was able to add 11 more points, 8 of which came from his 4 and 6 shooting from the free throw line, to the E-Hawk score.

The E-Hawks close out their season with their final two games on Feb. 4 and 7 against Spencer and Manson-Northwest Webster, respectively.
