GT/RA Titans Earn Split With Manson

The Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire basketball teams resumed action after the holiday break with a split against Manson Northwest Webster last Friday night.

The Titan girls earned a37-28 win but the Titan boys were turned away in a 34-46 loss to the Cougars.

GT/RA's girls would jump out to a 14-4 lead after the opening quarter and led 20-15 at the intermission. In the third quarter, both teams played good defense, as GT/RA held MNW?to just two points, but only scored five points for a 25-17 lead.

Down the stretch, the Titans would take the win with the 27-28 win.

Toni Alesch led the effort with 12 points, while Madison Hough and Taylor Park both scored eight points each. Emma Heinrichs added four points, while Madison Norris scored three points and Anna Sorensen rounded out the effort with two points.

In the boys contest, the first quarter was slow, as GT/RA trailed 6-8, but rallied to lead 19-14 at the intermission. In the third quarter, GT/RA would take a 29-15 advantage, but down the stretch, Manson Northwest Webster would outscored the Titans 21-5 to take the 46-34 victory.

The Titans were led offensively by Tom Geelan's 13 points, while Tyson Kruse scored eight points. Chris Conlon added seven points, while Jacob Conlon rounded out the scoring with six points.
