Lady Wolverines Finish 2-3 At North Iowa Tourney

WEST?BEND - The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate closed out the regular season over the weekend at the North Iowa Tournament in Buffalo Center on Saturday. On the day, WBM/GCB finished 2-3, with losses to Newman Catholic of Mason City by scores of 21-13, 19-21 and 13-15; North Iowa by scores of 19-21 and 6-21 and Estherville Lincoln Central by scores of 20-22 and 6-21. The Lady Wolverines would take victories over North Butler by game scores o12-21, 21-17 and 15-13 and a win over West Hancock by scores of 21-9 and 21-12.

Last Thursday evening, the Lady Wolverines met Southeast Valley in their final conference match of the season and fell 3-0 to the Jaguars. Game scores were 7-25, 23-25 and 22-25.

Trissa Schmidt would make 20 attacks and had six kills, with nine of nine serves in the match, while Autumn Mogler and Karissa Montag both made 18 attacks and had one kill each. Autumn Mogler dug out eight shots and completed 11 of 13 serves with three aces, while Karissa Montag added three blocks and six of six serves.

Isabell Gehrt made 12 attacks and had one kill, while digging out five shots and issued seven assists while making 13 of 15 serves and three aces.

Monika Fehr added 13 attacks with one kill and blocked three shots. Rachel Fehr had 11 attacks with one kill and dug out three shots while making five of five serves.

Ashlyn Banwart made six attacks with two kills and handed out one assist while making one dig.

April Schmidt would make three attacks and one assist, but dug out 11 shots and connected on four of four serves, while Megan Studer made one attack.

The Lady Wolverines end the regular season with a mark of 8-18 overall and a Twin Lakes Conference final match record of 2-9 for the season.
