Local Youth Shoot With Okoboji AIM Trapshooters At State Meet

Several local youth shot with the Okoboji AIM?Trap Team at the Iowa AIM?State Shoot in Cedar Falls July 21-23. AIM is the youth program of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and stands for Academics, Integrity and Marksmanship. Rick Kalsow and Paul Molitor served as coaches for the 21 young shooters from Emmetsburg, Cylinder, Whittemore, Milford, Terril, Ruthven, Wallingford Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park.

Locak shooters participating in the event were Elyssa Flannegan of Emmetsburg and Aurora Peters of Whittemore, who shot on an all-girls squad in the Sub-Junior category and earned fourth place, shooing 783 out of 1,000 targets.

Garret Franker of Ayrshire shot 87 of 100 in the Pre-Sub division to finish in second place, while Tate Joyce of Emmetsburg shot 85 of 100 to tie for third, but finished fourth on a reverse score tiebreaker.
