With the start of the 2017-18 school year a little less than two weeks away, practices for the Fall Athletic seasons have begun and the annual membership drive for the Emmetsburg E-Hawk Booster Club is once again underway.

The Booster Club is once again soliciting memberships and volunteers to not only join and support the student athletes of the Emmetsburg Community Schools, but also to help out with their time, talent and treasures for various functions and events.

Members of the Emmetsburg E-Hawk Booster Club assist the athletic programs with concession stand operations, ticket takers and other capacities throughout the school year, and signups for assisting at various events is currently underway in conjunction with the annual membership drive.

Each year, Booster club memberships offer supporters of Emmetsburg athletic programs a chance not only to assist in the ongoing efforts of the student athletes, but also an opportunity for boosters to be recognized for their support. Through the yearly membership in the E-Hawk Booster Club, the monies raised are used to provide additional financial support to all athletic programs sponsored by the Emmetsburg Community Schools.

In the 2016-2017 school year, through the efforts of the Emmetsburg Sports Booster Club, a donation of $15,535 was given to the Emmetsburg Community Schools to be placed in the General Activities budget. Additionally, funds were designated or donated for an Ipad and accessories for recording/filming athletic contests and new headsets for the football coaching staff use during games. Funds were also allocated for a shelter tent for the Cross Country teams, and new uniforms for the Emmetsburg Middle School Track Teams.

Booster club funds were also provided for improvements to the pitching mound on the baseball diamond and Middle School wrestling singlets, as well as new baseball bats.

Funding was allocated towards the printing of football and volleyball programs, a donation to the joint Emmetsburg-Estherville-Algona Swim Team and a donation to the Emmetsburg High School Dance team, as well as the purchase of a new popcorn popper for concession stand use at events.

The Booster Club also provided funding for Speed, Agility Quickness ladders, special Senior athletic blankets, and sack lunches for teams playing games away from Emmetsburg. Meal funds were also donated for athletes participating in State Competitions, including State Tournament Wrestlers, Lady E-Hawk Golfers and State Track Qualifiers.

Funds were donated to provide practice rounds for the Lady E-Hawks' Regional, District and State Golf meets and also for the E-Hawk Golf Team's Sectional golf meet.

Booster club funds purchased additional track starting blocks and a cart, as well as multi-sport HUDL?Software. And, the Booster Club also donated funds to the Hot Shots Trap Shooting program and made a donation to assist in purchasing new cheerleading uniforms.

Once again, five levels of membership are available in the E-Hawk Athletic Booster Club for the 2017-2018 school year.

The five traditional levels of membership include White, Black, Gold and E-Hawk Memberships, along with the Senior Citizen Membership.

A White membership is the general, basic membership and gives the member an E-Hawk Booster window decal and recognition in the athletic event programs.

The Black membership level provides one adult activity ticket in the membership package, which allows the member admission to all home non-tournament events, along with the E-Hawk Booster window decal and recognition in the athletic event programs.

The Gold level of membership includes two activity tickets in the membership package, along with the window decal and recognition in the athletic event programs.

The E-Hawk Membership package provides three adult activity tickets and window decal and recognition in the athletic event programs.

The Senior Citizen Membership option provides a senior activity ticket, good for admission to all home, non-tournament events for individuals 62 years of age and older and recognition in the athletic event programs.

An additional option this year is the Junior E-Hawk Club membership package. The Junior E-Hawk Membership makes a perfect gift for a grandchild, neighbor child or a student in need. The donation can be made anonymously if so desired.
